June 18, 2016 - Eastpointe Cruisin' Gratiot - Eastpoint, MI

The 18th Annual Cruisin’ Gratiot Eastpointe was this past Saturday and, as usual, we were there to enjoy the two mile stretch of cars between 8 Mile and 10 Mile and what was expected to be over 150,000 spectators.

There are a number of cruises in Michigan, a few others on Gratiot, but this is the only cruise that is sanctioned by the Michigan Department of Transportation with a designated “cruise lane.” Although the lane doesn’t technically open until 1 p.m., cruisers begin showing up by 9 a.m.

There were lots of classic cars and hot rods, as you might expect, and a few that just left you staring at them and going, “Huh?” People of all ages attended and there were things to do all up and down the boulevard. All the taverns had beer tents, for example, and there was music up and down the road. Everyone was friendly and in a good mood, enjoying the really warm and dry June weather.

There is more information in the cruise link below and you can also see the links for the other cruises in the area. Sorry, Mt. Clemens was last weekend we just found out about it. Also see our photos of what you missed at the Eastpointe Gratiot cruise!
