July 10-12, 2015 - Plymouth Art in the Park Fair - Plymouth, MI
We've been attending it for years and Plymouth Township's Art in the Park Fair never lets us down. This year’s show was held on July 10, 11, & 12 and seemed larger, in both scope and scale, and to have higher attendance based on DMM's non-statistical visual guesswork. The Fair is in its 35th year with 400+ artists from around the U.S. This is the second-largest Art Fair in MI but is really second to none; it’s a class act that the whole family can enjoy. Affordable handmade art by artists from across the country can’t be all bad; it's quite nice, in fact.
We saw everything at the show: maple root beer, food trucks, Ron Hark (no that was not Bob Seger), chalk murals, One Love Reggae Band (probably our yearly favorites) with George the dancer, Pampered Hearts Soap, who cut me a fresh bar of plumeria soap, art classes for kids, and a kids zone. What’s not to love? What more could you ask for on a sunny Michigan day? Ice cream? You want ice cream, you've got it. Not to mention that shops are open all along the streets behind the artist exhibits. Many of the Plymouth shops are art exhibits in and of themselves and oustanding restaurants are interspersed among them.
The mother/daughter duo who host this event, Dianne Quinn and Raychel Rork, also put on the Milford Memories Show during the fall. Check out our photos and the links below for further details and join us in Plymouth next year for this inspiring art event.
