June 1, 2014 - Garden Gate Market at Goldner Walsh Garden and Home
Garden Gate Market is a new Farmer’s and Vendor’s Market at Goldner Walsh Garden and Home Nursery in Pontiac, MI, just off Orchard Lake Road. The grand opening was Sunday, June 1, and Detroit Metro Mashup was there to cover the event.
The market will be open on Sunday’s from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm through at least September. They are contemplating having some sort of weekend market available at GW throughout the year. There was food and produce vendors, including a variety of edible mushrooms, along with Michigan honey, organic meats, freshly roasted and brewed coffee, donuts and fritters from Avon Donuts, craft items and much more. You might even see a gorgeous cruiser car in the parking lot, as we did, and if you explore the grounds you can even find Santa skiing on a roof. The promised amphitheater is coming along nicely and we can’t wait to hear the first concert there. Goldner Walsh is not only a nursery and flower shop, but now you can wander through Telly’s Greenhouse, since they have teamed up with Tim Travis and Goldner Walsh. Oh, and don’t forget to stop and check out the chickens. We spent a couple of hours just walking around and taking in the sights of the new market and the beauty of the grounds. At this point we’ll just let our photos do the talking. Check them out!
