In our quest for trying to cover the obscure, we headed down to the first annual Detroit Rummage Sale held at the Tangent Gallery in Detroit. There were more vendors on hand than we had anticipated and it was nice to see this lovely old building being put to good use. Everything from original artworks to clothing, cookware, books, and kitschy items were available in the two rooms dedicated to the sale. We struck up a couple of great conversations while we were there and were really pleased to see Detroit’s artistic use movement growing.

On our way home we happened onto the Palmer Park Art Fair. Unfortunately they were just about to close, so we are keeping our eyes and ears open for next years event. This was the first time they have held the fair in 30 years and we were sorry that we found out about it too late to attend. We were also unable to visit the Epiphany Glass Studio’s open house, which we try to attend yearly; we can only stretch ourselves so thin.
