Detroit Metro Mashup photographers attended the Waterford Peacefest on June 2, 2012 and took some awesomely colorful pictures, please click the link to see them. Colorful art, colorful clothes, and colorful, happy attitudes abound at this event. The Peacefest was initiated by the L.A. Cafe & Java, located at 5815 Dixie Highway, Waterford, MI. The cafe was established in 1986 and features a variety of straight and flavored coffees, lattes, cappuccinos, etc., in addition to a being a vegetarian and vegan restaurant. We at DMM can attest to the quality of both the food and the coffee-based drinks, having eaten there many times over the years. Owned by Darren and Heidi Graunstadt, the cafe began the Peacefest five years ago as a way for regional artists to display and sell their works and wares. This year’s Peacefest will be held on June 1st and 2nd. We have added the Artist Application to this article if you want to sign up and display your talents. More information about the cafe and the upcoming Peacefest can be found on their Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/pages/L-A-Cafe/30058648955 .
